Colorado MUFON is pleased to welcome Dr. Jim Segala on Saturday, October 10, 2026, for a compelling presentation exploring one of the most serious and least understood aspects of the UAP phenomenon: the possible medical effects of close human contact with unidentified anomalous phenomena.
In this presentation, Dr. Segala will examine clinical data drawn from more than 50 acute, high-exposure cases, along with several hundred additional cases involving chronic post-contact conditions. He will discuss objective medical findings, diagnostic imagery, and documented timelines showing how symptoms and physical abnormalities may develop following close exposure events. The presentation will also include photographic and clinical examples of skin and tissue abnormalities, along with an evidence-based discussion of how high-energy phenomena — including UAPs, orbs, and transient portals — may produce injury in nearby humans.
Dr. Segala will also share preliminary results from an ongoing international cohort study involving 500 individuals with frequent encounters, highlighting aggregated data, notable trends, research methodology, and the limitations that remain in this emerging field of study. Attendees will come away with a better understanding of how potential UAP-related health effects may be identified, documented, and evaluated, as well as what future research may be needed.
With more than 30 years of experience in science and engineering, Dr. Segala has built a distinguished career focused on the design and construction of advanced experimental systems. He holds a Ph.D. in Physics along with advanced degrees in Engineering, and spent more than a decade as a senior researcher at the Institute for Advanced Studies at Austin, where his work included radiobiology, quantum entanglement, quantum optics, vacuum polarization, and neurobiology. He has also authored numerous peer-reviewed publications in radiobiology, advanced medical imaging, and related biophysical fields.
Dr. Segala is also widely known for his media appearances and anomalous-phenomena research. He was featured in Season 1 of The Secret of Skinwalker Ranch, multiple episodes of National Geographic’s UFOs: Investigating the Unknown, and Discovery Channel’s Mystery at Blind Frog Ranch, among other appearances. His current research includes unexplained injuries occurring under unusual or anomalous circumstances, as well as a three-year study documenting anomalous activity in Utah’s Uintah Basin.
